Agios Neofytos Monastery is a beautiful and serene site in the village of Tala, around 15 minutes from the Town centre. There are daily trips up the monastery, and it is a lovely way to spend a morning or an afternoon. Nestled in the hills there is a nice shaded café and some small shops selling traditional products. As you enter the monastery there is a large Church and mosaic structures. The church contains some of the finest Post-Byzantine icons dating to the 16th century which are displayed in a museum on site.
